Relocation Announcement:
While we were busy living, Father Time has been following us on our journey, and we must now acknowledge his presence, and decide how we should spend the time remaining to us. We have made the difficult decision to close the Zanesville gallery and move our operation to 218 Selma Road, Springfield, OH 45505.
There we will continue to make art, write, garden, and practice hospitality, all while practicing the art of living. This will of course include our neighbors and all our old friends, who we hope will continue to eat and drink with us, while discussing the complexities of art, faith, and community. We hope you will visit so we don’t need to miss any of you.
Our first asphalt show was in April 2006 at 330½ Market Street. We relocated to our present gallery at 129 S 7th Street in 2012 after a complete renovation of the building. We then moved our living quarters into the studio during the Covid epidemic because it was expedient. What a thrill and pleasure to serve our community with so many varied exhibitions. The studio is now for sale.
We have purchased a historic 4000 square foot, Greek Revival home, which sits on a knoll overlooking The Dome, another historic building, now a STEM school. A large studio on the second floor, plus three extra bedrooms for guests, seemed made just for us. Eight colleges and universities are nearby; a beautiful art museum (well connected to the Ohio Arts council), and a beautiful downtown within a five-minute walk. Despite its urban location, we will have a ½ acre plot with gardens, century old trees, and limestone walls enclosing a secret garden. A good roof and a two-car garage below sealed the deal. It needs a tweak here and there, but the infrastructure is pretty good.
Any patrons, or would be patrons, are invited to stop by on November 6th, our last First Friday opening to say hello or goodbye, or to buy an asphalt painting before we go.
Or maybe you would like to buy a nice art studio, retirement loft, or restaurant at 129 S 7th Street. We will be leaving the building with a house sitter who packs. Call us if you would like viewing privileges.
